I thought about it and thought about it. Thinking about it didn’t make it more doable! Could I do it, should I do it? Will I be old because I let my hair go grey? Will I look old to everyone else?
If I do it will I hate it and need to go back to coloring my hair?
I must be like many women who think about it and say never or maybe now or maybe later I’ll do it. I finally said enough’s enough “how vain can you be” and went to my hair colorist/stylist and said I wanted to transition to grey. I had talked about doing it several times with her. Talking about it out loud was helpful but she could tell I wasn’t ready. She assured me that I could go back to coloring if I couldn’t stand not having color around my face. With her skillful coloring techniques she made it so I wouldn’t have a skunk line with obvious grow out.
I woke up the next day and thought this isn’t so bad I can live with this and no one said to me “hey-are you going grey?” and after more days went by I became accepting of my greyness. Go see a qualified skillful professional hair colorist/stylist to help you through the process because that can make all the difference in how you feel and look.
Hair products that brighten the grey or greying hair and that take a yellow tinge out are Blue Malva shampoo by Aveda for one. I also adjusted my wardrobe by bringing in more color around my face and I use more blush in my checks.
My best wishes to all you ladies transitioning to grey!
